SPOT
The big Issyk Kul lake
The largest lake in Kyrgyzstan
Issyk-Kool (or Issyk Kul) is the largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. Lightly salty and fed by a few hot springs, the lake never freezes, despite its altitude and the severity of the climate in winter. The shores of the lake offer magnificent views of the peaks and ridges of Terskey Alatau, of one of the largest glaciers in the world (Inylcheco), as well as of the two highest mountains in Kyrgyzstan: the Jengish Chokusu (7439 meters) and the Khan Tengri (7010 meters). The shores of the lake are home to seaside resorts popular with Russian, Kyrgyz and Kazakh tourists.

This trip is accessible to anyone in good physical condition.
> TREK: you must be able to walk 5 to 6 hours a day on terrain that is generally without technical difficulty (trails, scree, snowfields possible at the beginning of the season).
> Mountain biking: no mountain biking experience is required. However, your ability to use the derailleur or to negotiate hills and descents, acquired during a weekend or an internship, will allow you to get the most out of your trip. The stages are on average 30 to 40 km maximum, with some hills...
> KAYAK: previous experience is not required but your ability to handle the paddle acquired during a weekend or an internship will be a plus. It is of course essential to know how to swim at least 25m and to be able to put your head under water (ministerial decree of 4 May 1995). A certificate may be requested upon arrival.
Personal belongings, collective equipment and supplies are carried by horses/pack mules or a vehicle that we meet every evening. You will therefore only carry the day's essentials in a small backpack (lunch, sweater, jacket, camera, i.e. 4 or 5kg). This trip also includes a “discovery” part in a vehicle, with stages that are sometimes quite long (5 or 6 hours).
Electricity
Same electrical sockets as in France, 220 V.
NB: you are going to participate in an “adventure” program, a travel formula that is totally different from conventional tourist circuits: the discomfort, the unexpected, the health conditions, which we may encounter, suppose everyone has a good spirit of tolerance and a taste for adventure.
Through your active and positive participation, you will contribute to the cohesion and good understanding of the group, which is a guarantee of the success of the trip.

Weather
Kyrgyzstan has a dry and cold continental climate. While winters are very severe, summers are on the other hand beautiful and hot with average temperatures in the valleys between 25° and 27°C.
However, short periods of bad weather can always occur (storms). At higher altitudes, the weather is generally colder and frosts are possible at any time of the year. Take this into account when choosing your equipment (warm clothing and comforter). September is often nice, but cooler than July or August. Bring an extra layer of yarn!
