The program
Day by dayDay of arrival
Breakfast (8:30am to 10:00am) and equipment is provided. Meet at 11 am with your guide to prepare for the raid.
Departure around 13:00 for the Grands-Montets ski area: check the ski levels, return around 15:30 and drive to the Simplon Pass (2000 m). Safety exercises.
Overnight at the hotel, near the Simplon Pass.
If you purchased the “arrival the day before” option, we welcome you between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. If you plan to arrive after 8 pm, please contact the sports village (email argentiere@ucpa.asso.fr or phone) so that we can send you the code for the front door. You will then find an envelope with your name and instructions for finding your room. Dinner is served until 20:30.
During your stay

Wednesday - Starting from Schlusmatt (1810 m) ascent to Schiltorn (2794 m).
Height difference 984 m. Overnight at the hotel, near the Simplon Pass.
Thursday - Ascend the Hübsch-Hornpass (2867 m) or the Breithorn (3438 m).
Height difference 870 or 1450 m. Overnight at the hotel, near the Simplon Pass.
Friday - Ascension of Wasenlucke (2850 m) or the shoulder of Monté Léone (3403 m).
Altitude difference 860 or 1413 m. Return to Argentière, end of the course at 6 p.m.
The course of this program is given for information purposes only.
It may undergo modifications or adjustments, depending on technical or organizational criteria, security requirements or the climatic conditions of the moment. In this case, only those responsible for UCPA supervision are authorized to take the necessary decision (s).
It can also be adapted according to the technical and physical level of the participants, according to the state of fitness of the participants.
Be sure to check the level required for the internship. If you do not have the required level, we will not always be able to offer you another program.

Switzerland, the land of the peaks
Even though Zermatt and the Matterhorn are the most famous spots in Switzerland, the Swiss Alps contain incredibly preserved and wild peaks, peaks and valleys. From the canton of Valais in the south with Saas Fee, the Matterhorn, the North Face of Monte Rosa, the North Face of Monte Rosa, the Simplon region which allows you to go down to Italy and the lakes, via the Upper North Oberland (Les Diablerets, Gstaad...) or even the Grisons region and the Ortles Massif, the Swiss Alps are a playground in which ski touring routes are endless..

Address and access
Get off at Argentière SNCF station (changing at Saint-Gervais/Le Fayet), located 50 m from the UCPA sports village. Check the destination of the train: the UCPA is located in Argentière in Haute-Savoie (74) and not in Argentière-les-Écrins (05).
You are coming by plane:
The nearest airport is Geneva Airport, a 1.5-hour shuttle from Chamonix. For shuttle schedules, consult the Tourism Office website.
UCPA has a partnership with the shuttle company Mountain Drop-offs. Discount code: UCPA1415.
You are coming by car:
Take the white highway to Chamonix, then the national road 506 to Argentière, 8 km up from Chamonix. The UCPA sports center is located 50 m from the SNCF train station. There is no parking within the UCPA sports center. However, it is possible to find free but limited parking spaces in the village.
To preserve the planet and not have worries (snowy roads in winter, difficult parking), if possible, prefer public transport.

You have a small experience in ski touring (being comfortable on a slope, managing your effort over several hours, knowing how to feed yourself during the effort, choosing your equipment, putting together your bag). You have a 'Confirmed' level in alpine skiing.
