Academy Camp/Language courses
This one-week linguistic and sports stay in the Alps is designed for 11-15 year olds.
It offers an immersion in American culture with 5 English courses (15 hours) supervised by a trainer from the Berlitz Language School and 5 all-mountain biking driving school sessions. Day of arrival

Day 1:
“Arrival the day before” option: welcome on Saturday between 5 pm and 7 pm.
Otherwise, welcome on Sundays between 10 am and 12 pm.

Discovery of the week's living space, installation in the rooms and entertainment.

During your stay

Day 2:
In the morning, first mountain bike session. Equipment and adjustment of machines. Brief on the basics of safety, then a session on set to assess the levels and individual needs of each person.

In the afternoon, English lessons with a trainer from the Berlitz Language School, who is a native English or bilingual French-English speaker. Teaching the technical vocabulary necessary for mountain biking sessions.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., a short game in English to understand and use technical vocabulary related to mountain biking.
In the evening, animated vigil in French and English.

Day 3:
In the morning, mountain bike session. Technical advice on braking, basic position and safety concepts: learning stopping zones, actions to adopt and good uses.
In the afternoon, English lessons. On the agenda: revisions of the grammar and the previous day's session.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., orienteering and/or escape game in English in connection with local fauna and flora.
In the evening, animated vigil in French and English.

Day 4:
In the morning, mountain bike session. Descent in the direction of Embrun via the French Cycling Federation (FFC) route of “la 15". 800 m of descent and sensations!
In the afternoon, outdoor English lessons. Revision of vocabulary related to local fauna and flora.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., role-playing games in English to learn how to prepare for a sports trip in the USA.
In the evening, animated vigil in French and English.

Day 5:
In the morning, mountain bike session. Descent into the “la Fontaine” valley, wide open spaces with 800 m of altitude difference and more than 15 km of wild trails.
In the afternoon, English lessons. Teaching the vocabulary necessary for a trip to the USA: reading signs in a station or airport, asking a passer-by, ordering in a restaurant...
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., role-playing games in English to prepare for a trip to the USA.
In the evening, animated vigil in French and English.

Day 6:
In the morning, mountain bike session. Putting the week's achievements into practice.
In the afternoon, last English course of the stay. Reception of an educational booklet.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., role-playing games in English to prepare for your departure party during a long stay in the USA (choice of food, vigilance against deviant behavior...).
In the evening, animated vigil in French and English.

Last day

Day 7:
Luggage preparation and room storage.
End of the stay on Saturday between 10 am and 1 pm.

The course of this program is indicative.
It may undergo modifications or adjustments, depending on technical criteria, safety requirements or the climatic conditions of the moment. In this case, only those responsible for UCPA supervision are authorized to take the necessary decision (s).
It can also be adapted according to the technical and physical level of the participants. Sports sessions can take place either in the morning or in the afternoon.
