On the program: a new route, which will take lovers of hiking from Orres to Menton off the beaten track via the Valley of Wonders, the most beautiful and the most mythical variants of the “Grande Traversée des Alpes”. A two-week trip to discover a wild and preserved space, with the final objective of reaching the Mediterranean and enjoying the sun of the Côte d'Azur.

Day of arrival

Day 1:
Reception on Sundays between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. or 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Visit and installation in the rooms. Delivery of sports equipment.

During your stay

Day 2:
Day trip and ascent to the Pic du Boussolenc (2822 m), the highest point of the Orres mountain.
6 hours of walking.

Height difference: + and - 1300 m
Or transport to Guillestre, at the gates of Queyras and the start of the ascent of the Col de Serenne through the Val d'Escreins nature reserve.
4 hours of walking. Height difference: +800 meters
Night in the sports village or Bivouac at the foot of the Col de Serenne.

Day 3:
Transport to the Col de Vars and head for the hamlet of Fouillouse to bivouac in the valley of Plate Lombarde.
5 hours of walking. Height difference: + and -850 m
Or Ascension of the Col de Serenne descent of the Châtelet valley and head for the hamlet of Fouillouse to bivouac in the valley of Plate Lombarde.
7-hour walk. Height difference: +1050 m/-1000 m

Day 4:
Crossing a mineral world. Cols du Vallonet (2524 m) and Mallemort (2558 m) to dive into the village of Larche. Go up the Lauzanier valley to the lakes of the same name, where you can almost caress the marmot (2284 m).
6 hours of walking. Height difference: +1100/-900 m

Day 5:
Wild and off-trail course: Pas de la Cavale (2671 m), Lacs du Morgon (2427 m) and Lacs de Vens (2304 m). Bivouac on the heights of La Tinée. Get your compasses out, you will need to have a keen sense of direction today.
5 hours of walking. Height difference: +870/-750 m

Day 6:
Pas des Babarottes (2510 m) and energy path before the long descent to Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée. Crossing all the vegetation levels of the Alps, it is a real day of biological discovery.
4 hours of walking. Height difference: +200/-1300 m

Day 7:
Taxi to Isola 2000, then ascent to Col Mercière (2342 m) and bivouac on the shores of Lac Nègre, one of the wildest in the Mercantour National Park. Isolated at the foot of the mountains, you will admire the stars reflected in the perfect water of this lake.
5 hours of walking. Height difference: +700/-300 m

Day 8: From Lac Nègre to Lac du Boréon Pays des Loups, by the Col de Salèse (2031 m) and crossing Nice Switzerland. Maybe you will meet the canine at the center of all passions.
3 hours of walking. Height difference: +100/-500 m

Day 9:
Passage of Pas des Ladres (2448 m) in the middle of the country of chamois then Col de Fenestre border with Italy, to greet our Latin neighbors before joining the Madonna of Fenestre bivouac on the French side.
5 hours of walking. Height difference: +1000/-550 m

Day 10:
Mouflons, chamois and ibex on the crossings of the Pas du Mont Colomb (2548 m) and the Baisse du Basto (2693 m). The wildlife of the Alps will be reviewed during one of the most adventurous days of this trek. Bivouac on the edge of the lake.
6 hours of walking. Height difference: +1100/-600 m

Day 11:
Through the Lower Valmask (2549 m), you will reach and cross the mythical Valley of Wonders. An opportunity to go in search of cave paintings from the Bronze Age. Some of these protohistoric traces date back more than 4000 years. Then you will reach the Devil's Step (2430 m), where the climate and vegetation change dramatically in a few meters. Bivouacs at the top of the Authion.
5 hours of walking. Height difference: +700/-800m

Day 12:
Ridge course and the scents of the South: descent to Sospel, an Italian-style village. The lazy evening on the banks of the Bévéra.
5 hours of walking. Height difference: +200/-1400 m

Day 13:
A green tunnel to see the big blue. After reaching the Col du Razet (1032 m), you will bivouac on a terrace of the Col Saint Bernard on the heights of Menton.
4 hours of walking. Height difference: +750/-300 m

Last day

Day 14:
Luggage preparation and tent storage.
Lunch.
End of the stay on Saturday between 12 pm and 1 pm at the Menton SNCF station.

A return to the sports village of Les Orres is possible subject to availability and only by inquiring and booking in advance at the sports village (for a cost of 49 euros, to be paid on site).

In breathtaking panoramas, leave from Queyras, north of Briançon in the Southern French Alps, to reach Nice, Menton and the Mediterranean. This unique hiking place allows you to stroll in the forest, among pines and larches to find the trails of the region. This kit cannot be the group's pharmacy for the small common problems inherent to the activity or the constraints of travel. We therefore invite you to buy from a personal pharmacy.
