A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE TRIP

Pure sport/
Kitesurfing is a complete sport, with great sensations and where you progress quickly. Want to get started? The Djerba lagoon offers a flat, easy and secure body of water, and where you can walk. It's ideal for getting started!
For a week of introduction to kitesurfing, head to the Tunisian island, its sun, its hot water! In the north-east of the island, a huge lagoon where you can set foot awaits you. Throughout the week, Moussa and his kitesurfing instructors will introduce you to this sport and give you personalized advice.
You learn how to properly prepare your equipment, how to read the conditions of the day and adapt to them, how to control your waterstart (leaving independently from the lake), what position to adopt to facilitate your gliding, etc. Very quickly, the sensations are there! For better learning, you work in a small group with a dedicated instructor for 4 students. For beginners, we prefer to learn in pairs until you master the waterstart. It allows you to quickly acquire wing takeoff and landing techniques, safety information, etc., and thus allows you to launch more quickly. Kaiss, representing UCPA Djerba and his team, are waiting for you: 5 days are dedicated to kitesurfing or another activity depending on the wind. Your instructor adapts the rhythm of the week and adjusts the schedules to increase practical time on windy days and reduce it on less interesting days. Whatever the spot, it is rare to have 5 days of wind during a one-week stay. The average is of the order of two to three days with winds between 15 and 25 knots, which already allow you to practice and progress in good conditions. The stay consists of time for practice, theory, and a proposal for an alternative activity on windless days.

The program

Day by day

Day of arrival

The UCPA welcomes you to the center on Saturday from the end of the afternoon. Then distribution of rooms and information meeting.

...
If you took the UCPA flight: the Paris-Djerba flight takes place during the day, which allows you to arrive at the center the same Saturday. The schedules will be communicated to you a few weeks in advance.

During your stay

On the program 5 days of kitesurfing or other activities depending on the wind.

Kitesurfing day:
After breakfast at the hotel, head to the kitesurfing spot, 10 minutes away by minivan.
...
Arriving at the spot, your instructor organizes a briefing on the course of the session, prepare your equipment and you get in the water.
After your course, a well-deserved break awaits you, in the shade of the pergola. It is an opportunity to discuss everyone's sailing experiences, and especially to have lunch on the spot, facing the sea.
You go kitesurfing again. This second session of the day allows you to put into practice the morning's advice, and thus, to make rapid progress.
Around 5 pm, returning to the center will allow you to take a good shower, or relax at the hotel pool.

Depending on the weather conditions, schedules can be adjusted, to start earlier or later, to reduce the lunch break, in order to optimize your practice.

When the wind does not allow kitesurfing, we will offer you, depending on availability:
- a theory/self rescue session
- cultural discovery sessions (depending on the day: visit Houmt souk, Fadhloun mosque, Guellela village, etc.).
- a cultural day on a mountain bike with a visit to the synagogue and Djerbahood
- a nautical day, with kayak, paddle, windsurfing, catamaran, beach volleyball, etc
- a day of walking in the blue lagoon then horseback riding in Rass Rmal

An equipment breakage guarantee will be offered to you on site, in order to kite with peace of mind. It covers all breakage or loss of equipment that may occur during the practice of the activity.

Last day

All good things come to an end. Your stay ends on Saturday at the end of the morning.
