Day 3: Tuesday - Peaceful day in the Clarée Valley, along the river and its waterfalls. Since the refusal of a highway in the 70s, this valley has been able to reconcile measured tourist development and the preservation of its landscape. The village of Névache will be an opportunity to appreciate the local architecture. Bivouac near the Chardonnet refuge. Height differences: +900m -1000m/Distance: 16 km
Day 4: Wednesday - Superb day to discover the Cerces massif with some views of the Ecrins. The Chardonnet and Ponsonnière passes at an altitude of over 2,600 m will be crossed during a hike punctuated by the lakes. Splendid bivouac near the Lac Rond and the Grand Ban. Height differences: +940m -750m/Distance: 13 km
Day 5: Thursday - Departure from the Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur department to enter Rhône-Alpes under the eye of Mont Thabor (3167 m). Here the Italian border is only a few kilometers away, in fact, the narrow valley used was still Italian until 1047. Night at the edge of the round lake and near the Thabor refuge. Height differences: +1110m -1100m/Distance: 18 km
Day 6: Friday - departure to cross the forests and reach the Arc Valley and Modane. Camping, hot showers and supplies in this border town, between forts and military barracks. Height differences: +100m -1500m/Distance: 13 km
Day 7: Saturday - Departure on the Chemin du Petit Bonheur, an ancestral trail that connects the villages of Maurienne. The Devil's Bridge allows you to cross the Arch and gives access to the imposing defensive barrier of the forts of Esseillon, which aimed to protect the kingdom of Piedmont-Sardaigne-Savoy from the French. After crossing Aussois, direction the imposing monolith of Sardières. Height differences: +960m -420m/Distance: 16 km
Day 8: Sunday - Go up to the forest to join a balcony path under the Vanoise and Dent Parachée glaciers (3695 m). Entry into the Vanoise National Park and installation of the bivouac near the Arpont refuge. Height differences: +1560m -800m/Distance: 22 km
Day 9: Monday - Wildest stage. All day long at an altitude of more than 2000 m, in the footsteps of the peddlers who descended the cheese from the mountains to the Po plain and returned loaded with salt, who took this balcony path between the steep Doron valley under your feet and the high peaks such as Grande Casse at 3855 m above sea level. Height differences: +820m - 640m/Distance: 17 km
Day 10: Tuesday - Key day. At the Col de la Leisse at 2761 m, departure from La Maurienne to go down to Tignes en Tarentaise. This sector of major ski resorts will be crossed by taxi. In the afternoon, climb to the flowery mountain pastures on the southern slope of the Isère Valley above Bourg-Saint-Maurice. To sleep, you are spoilt for choice between the 5 lakes spread over 200 m of altitude. Height differences: +800m -700m/Distance: 14 km
Day 11: Wednesday - An aerial morning to cross the “ferryman” of Pralognan, a mythical pass of the Mont Blanc ultra-trail and join the Beaufortain Tour trail. Bivouac near the refuge of the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme. Height differences: +1240m -1150m/Distance: 14 km
Day 12: Thursday - The whole day takes place in the highest nature reserve in France; Les Contamines-Montjoie with its great diversity of natural environments; its mountain pastures, its forests, its banks of torrents, until the glacier at the end of the day. This stage is relatively short in order to have the chance to access the Tré la Tête glacier and to observe ibex and chamois that frequent the area around the refuge. Height differences: +730m -1060m/Distance: 11 km
Day 13: Friday - Descent to the village of Contamines-Montjoie for a last refreshment. Then the stage leads to the magnificent glacial valleys of Miage and Bionnassay which descend from the slopes of Mont-Blanc, an opportunity to discover more the rimayes and the crevasses.
