Escape to the islands of the Indian Ocean

Mauritius is located in the Mascarene archipelago, which also includes Réunion Island and Rodrigues, a thousand kilometers from the eastern coast of Madagascar. Of volcanic origin, Mauritius still has a few craters of dormant or extinct volcanoes, including Trou-au-Cerf in the town of Curepipe in the center of the Island. First occupied by the Dutch, then by the French and finally by the English, Mauritius is a nice mixture of Creole, European and Indian cultures, which can be found in particular in local musical and gastronomic creation. A popular destination for wealthy tourists, Mauritius is nonetheless affordable. Lovers of water sports, diving, hiking and the Creole atmosphere find in Mauritius all the ingredients for a successful vacation.

Rodrigues

Located in the east of Mauritius, Rodrigues is the smallest island in the Mascarene archipelago, both wild and authentic.

Isolated in the middle of the Indian Ocean, 600 kilometers from Mauritius, Rodrigues is like a pearl out of the ocean. Of volcanic origin, Rodrigues has a shallow lagoon, twice as big as the emerged part of the island. Rodrigues had the particularity of sheltering numerous species of birds, which are now extinct, and a species of giant, endemic land turtle, which has delighted sailors on their way to India.
