What is a disabled stay?
A stay specially developed for people with motor and/or sensory disabilities, in partnership with APF Evasion France Handicap and the French Handisport Federation.
Sports activities are provided by qualified sports instructors from UCPA and Handisport experts.
A team of animators accompanies vacationers who need it, in the actions of daily life: getting up, getting dressed, washing, eating... These animators come from the paramedical sector (students or graduates psychomotricists, nurses, occupational therapists, etc.) or social workers (specialized educators) and have already supported

What does the price include?
The price includes full board accommodation, sports activities and the equipment necessary for their practice, entertainment and possible visits to the program, short trips to the activity spots, support with daily life (washing, dressing, eating...) for those who need it, and cancellation/repatriation insurance.
It does not include transport, drinks at the bar or purchases outside the center.
This accessible rate is possible thanks to the support of our partners (ANS, ANCV, Fondation de France), which allows the coverage of additional costs related to disability (adaptation of activities, support for daily life, etc.).
What payment methods are possible?
UCPA accepts payments by check, bank transfer, ANCV checks, CAF/VACAF vouchers.
Payment instructions will be given to you after validation of your registration request by the UCPA/APF Evasion commission.
What financial aid is possible to finance my stay?
Financial aid is available to help you reduce the amount of your vacation stay. To be supported in your requests for financial aid, we invite you to contact the APF France disability delegation in your department or the social workers who support you.
You can contact the following organizations:
- the Departmental House for Persons with Disabilities (MDPH) can cover part of the additional vacation costs related to your disability situation. This care concerns the human and technical assistance you may need. However, it should be noted that the additional costs related to disability are already largely financed by UCPA partners. However, some MDPHs agree to finance part of the stays, or the possible additional cost associated with transport support. To be entitled to this care, you must be a beneficiary of the disability compensation benefit (PCH) or the education allowance for disabled children (AEEH) or the allowance for disabled adults (AAH). You must apply to your MDPH several months in advance of departure, because depending on the department, the processing times for files can be long
.- your primary health insurance fund (CPAM)
- the communal social action center (CCAS) in your city of residence - your
mutual insurance -
the Family Allowances Fund offers several vacation benefits, via its VACAF service. For more information, go to www.vacaf.org
.- the National Agency for Vacation Checks (ANCV) offers assistance for vacation projects (APV) in the form of a vacation voucher. More info here.
Can we arrive at the center the day before the start of the stay?
The stays take place from Sunday to Saturday (or from Saturday to Friday for the cruise). It is not possible to arrive at the center the day before because the stay managers will not be present to welcome you before this
date. What transport options are available to get to the place of stay?
The UCPA offers collective trips by bus or train, departing from 25 cities in France (depending on dates and destinations). Unfortunately, as UCPA buses are not suitable for people in electric wheelchairs and/or without foot support, travel by SNCF train in place of reduced mobility will be preferred.
If you are able to travel by bus or train, but need a little help (to get down/up, carry your luggage, during stops or connections) support can be offered at additional cost.
In all cases, please specify in the registration form if you are considering a group trip or need to be accompanied. The disabled sports vacation team will help you find the best solution to get to the place of stay
.Who are the supervisors?
Sports activities are provided by qualified sports instructors from UCPA and experts from partner Handisport Committees.
A team of coaches, recruited in the paramedical sector (students or graduates psychomotricists, nurses, occupational therapists, etc.) or social workers (specialized educators), accompanies vacationers who need it in everyday activities (getting up, washing, dressing, eating, etc.). They also support instructors on sports activities.
How many chaperones are there to help with daily living?
The number of guides in daily life is calculated according to the profiles and needs of the participants. In general, it varies from 4 to 6 guides for 10 vacationers
.1 to 2 guides for the cruise (for 5 vacationers max).
Are the accommodations adapted?
The UCPA centers hosting disabled stays are chosen for their accessibility.
Some rooms are spacious and have bathrooms and PMR sanitary facilities. Vacationers are accommodated in rooms of 2
or more. The groups of disabled stays are made up according to the number of beds in the disabled rooms. Vacationers who do not absolutely need to be accommodated in a PMR room can be accommodated in classic rooms. They are consulted prior to the stay.
The beds are single beds and are not medicalized.
During my stay, would I have the opportunity to meet people other than the disabled holidaymakers?
Handisport stays take place at UCPA centers welcoming able-bodied vacationers.
For logistical and security reasons, most often, the practice of sports activities is not carried out in a mixed way with disabled people (with the exception of animators, who support sports instructors). However, during daily life (meals, after-sport activities, evenings, etc.), the Handisport group works alongside able-bodied vacationers and the animators are also there to facilitate exchanges. During minor stays, a lot of play time is planned in combination with able-bodied children
.I need specific care and equipment on site, what are the possibilities?
You can bring your equipment (lift, transfer chair, walker, etc.) to the place of stay. If it is too large, rentals are possible on site, on request before departure.
With regard to care, if you need nursing care or physiotherapy sessions during your stay, we can contact professionals who can administer this care (under prescription).
Careful! Note that health professionals may be unavailable at certain times: it is therefore important to send us this information as soon as possible to ensure their presence and availability
.Do I need to provide bed and bathroom linen?
The following bed linen is provided: sheet, pillowcases, duvets, mattress cover and duvet cover.
Bathroom linen is not provided. We recommend that people who need assistance with washing and using the toilet bring single-use washcloths.
Also think about bathing suits, for the nautical activities and swimming moments offered on certain stays!
I have medical treatment, should I report it? Will someone be able to help me take my medication?
Yes, if you have medical treatment related to your disability, your doctor must mention it in the medical file and you must provide the prescriptions in advance of the stay. If it is a temporary treatment, it is also strongly recommended that you report it to us.
Take your medication with you, if possible in the original blister pack, with the dosage and prescription, possibly organized in a pill box. If you are not autonomous in taking your treatment, it may be given to you by a stay supervisor with this responsibility
.Don't forget your Carte Vitale and your mutual insurance card, which are useful when you visit the doctor or make purchases at the pharmacy.

The courses are really adapted. I think it's good because people have really different disabilities... that's cool!
Corentin, 25 years old, lives in Val-Thorens.
I discovered that I could push my limits and I made new friends who were able and disabled. Things I didn't do before. Thelma, 15 years old, living in Saint Cyr-sur-Mer
. When Iarrived the group leaders quickly put me at ease, it was really an unforgettable stay for me! I also had very nice human encounters and I hope to be able to do a stay like this again very quickly. Maëlys, 23 years old, stay
